Way to go Smoke.
On another note NASCAR needs to learn the diffrence between methamphetamine who's steet names are known as METH, CRYSTAL, ICE, CRANK. Medicial speaking methamphetamine and it direct variants have been used to help premote wieght loss, certain psyological disorders. Jermery Mayfield does admit to being prescribed and taking ADDERALL to treat ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder). The generic substiute for ADDERALL is AMPHETAMINE SALTS. Jermery also admits that he took the OTC medication known as CLARITIN-D for allergies. The ingredient that provides relief for 'Stuffy nose' or nasal congestion is PSEUDOPHEDRINE. This happens to be one of the ingreedents also needed to manufature methamphetamine (METH) in ilegal street labs.
So with these to little bits of information it is not hard to understand how a drug test could show a false postive.
The stupid part of the Jermery Mayfield farse is that NASCAR never published a list of banned subsitances no to my understanding asked people who were being tested a list of the Medications they were taking. As someone who takes drug test often for my job this is a common pratice to prevent false postives.
If you were a race car driver which would fell more at ease with raceing a driver who is takeing a stimulant (METH) or a driver who is raceing just after recieving a bad concusion who's reaction times are slower and vision is likley impared. However we don't know the extent his head injury because NASCAR does not require a CT scan and MRI after a bad wreck. Go Figure
