#37 Chief suspended Crew Chief for the #37 Cup car Glenn Darrow has been suspended indefinitely for violating NASCAR's substance abuse policy. He was tested for banned substances last Saturday at Talladega Superspeedway, no word on what he tested positive for. October 7, 2005

Childress to appeal Berrier penalties Richard Childress Racing is going to appeal NASCAR's ruling against crew chief Todd Berrier for rules violations at Talladega. Richard said "After several discussions with the crew of the No. 29 team, we have decided to appeal NASCAR’s ruling. We feel we have a responsibility to GM Goodwrench and all of our sponsors, as well as all of our fans, to stand up for what we think is right. Regardless of the outcome, we can’t let it get in the way of what the No. 29 team is trying to accomplish this season. The goal is to finish 11th in the point standings. That’s where they are now and that will remain their focus.” October 5, 2005
Waltrip penalties overturned The penalties against Michael Waltrip for making an inappropriate gesture during the Robby Gordon incident at New Hampshire, have been overturned by the National Stock Car Racing Commission. So Michael can keep his $10,000, and get back his 25 driver points. October 5, 2005

Berrier gets fined, suspended, and probation Crew Chief for Kevin Harvick's #29 machine Todd Berrier has been fined $10,000, suspended until October 19th, and put on probation until the end of the year. NASCAR found an unapproved aerodynamic modification and an unapproved fuel cell vent mounting on Kevin's car. This is the second time this year that Todd has been suspended.

Johnson takes blame for starting wreck Jimmie Johnson has admitted he was at fault for the multi car wreck caused by his #48 spinning the 38 of Elliott Sadler. Jimmie thought at first that Dale Earnhardt Jr. pushed his car into the 38, but after looking at the video Johnson said "I started a wreck and took out a lot of good cars. That was the last thing I intended to do and I feel horrible for it. So I'm taking the responsibility." October 4, 2005

42 fails post race The 42 car of Jamie McMurray failed post race inspection because the right-rear quarter panel didn't meet minimum height. NASCAR will not penalize the team since the car was involved in one of the many wrecks during the race. October 4, 2005

-In the first "Big One" Michael Waltrip went for a wild ride flipping his #15 over several times. This one also took out chaser Mark Martin, and damaged the cars of Jimmie Johnson and Rusty Wallace. Dale Earnhardt Jr. and poll sitter Elliott Sadler were also involved.
-In "Big One" number 2, the 10 car of Scott Riggs went flipping on the front stretch in a spectacular wreck. This one claimed victims like Jimmie Johnson, Greg Biffle, Rusty Wallace and others. Jeff Gordon, Casey Mears, and Jeff Burton were also involved.
