COURT DISMISSES ALL CLAIMS BY FORD AGAINST KASEY KAHNE DETROIT (July 28, 2005) -- On July 28, 2005, the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan dismissed all claims by Ford Motor Company against NASCAR star Kasey Kahne, in connection with Kahne’s move last year from Ford to drive a Dodge in Nextel Cup, the most prominent NASCAR series. The Court found “that the Kahne-Ford personal services agreement is not enforceable…” and that Kahne had been free to switch to Dodge and Evernham Motorsports when Ford failed to provide a full time Nextel Cup car as requested by Kahne for the 2004 season. Pointing to admissions by Ford racing executives, Dan Davis and Greg Specht, the court found that the contract had “intentionally left open for future joint agreement” the “essential” terms of the actual series and team that Kahne would join, and that this was fatal to Ford’s claim. Trucks to run 'Dega in '06 NASCAR and International Speedway Corp announced that the Craftsman Truck Series will race at Talladega Super Speedway in 2006. For the first time in history the Trucks will race at the track on October 7th next year.
Driver Reaction:
Brendan Gaughan --- driver of the # 77 Jasper Engines Dodge “It’s going to be interesting. One of the best NASCAR races of the year is the NASCAR Craftsman Truck race at Daytona. Look at the famous finish from Rick Crawford’s win in 2003. Every year at Daytona is a fantastic, fantastic race."
Steve Park --- driver of the #62 Orleans Racing Dodge “The only thoughts I have is that I have plenty of experience at Daytona and Talladega. The thing in the truck series is the disparity between the guys who have experience and those who don’t. The difference between experience and brand new drivers is greater in the truck series than it is in Busch and the Cup Series. I hope the same caution is taken between the disparity of drivers where we’re not allowing inexperienced guys go to a place like Talladega. The chance of the “big one” that everyone talks about is greater in the truck series because of the disparity of experience. The process of getting the guys to Daytona in February and using that as experience for Talladega might make it a pleasant experience. I just hope that’s the case." July 26, 2005

11th Annual Charity Ride Across America Raises Millions of Dollars Each Year
NASCAR driver Kyle Petty has combined his passion for helping others and his love of motorcycles to create the Kyle Petty Charity Ride Across America. This annual trek features NASCAR celebrities, sponsors and fans traveling cross-country by motorcycle to raise money for the Victory Junction Gang Camp. The camp, founded by Kyle and Pattie Petty, welcomes children with chronic diseases or life-threatening illnesses and enables them to experience a camping environment that is memorable, exciting, fun, empowering, physically safe and medically sound. The camp is free of charge to children and families.
Now in its 11th year, the Charity Ride has logged more than 38,000 miles, included more than 5,000 riders and has raised more than $7 million.
This week, more than 250 motorcycle enthusiasts will kick-off the ride in the scenic Pacific Northwest, and will travel for nine days through Oregon, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, South Dakota, Iowa, Kentucky and Tennessee. Riders will complete their journey at The Victory Junction Gang Camp in Randleman, North Carolina on July 31.
ABOUT ¬KYLE PETTY: A fixture on the NASCAR circuit for more than 20 years, Kyle currently drives the #45 Georgia-Pacific Dodge in the Nextel Cup Series. Ganassi to keep McMurray for '06 Chip Ganassi Racing has decided to keep Jamie McMurray in the #42 car for the 2006 season. Jamie has already signed a contract to drive the #6 Roush Racing Ford in 2007, so it was thought the two teams would work out a deal to let McMurray go early. No such luck, so now the question remains: Who will drive the #6 in 2006? Mark Martin said he would stay on an extra year if Jack Roush needs him to, but that would mess with his current retirement plans. July 25, 2005
Leffler back in the WinFuel Chevy at Gateway Jason Leffler will wheel the WinFuel Chevy this weekend at Gateway in the Busch Series. At Pikes Peak, Jorge Goeters took a 24th place finish. Goeters will again drive the #32 at Watkins Glen.

Hopefully, this weekend we can turn our luck around and be up front at the end of the race to compete for the win.” July 25, 2005
