1 Carl Edwards grabs his 4th Busch Series win of 2005, does his signature back flip in victory lane, and donated his entire winnings to the relief efforts in the Gulf Coast.
Carl picked up his first career Cup Series poll earlier in the day.

-David Stremme got spun late in the race, but recovered for a top 10
-Points leader Martin Truex reported engine problems with 8 laps to go, finished 15th.
-J.J. Yeley had a gut feeling his engine was going during qualifying, and sure enough it let go early in the race.

NASCAR community comes together for victims NASCAR announced that it has aligned its industry with the American Red Cross to support in every way possible with charitable efforts in the aftermath of the Hurricane Katrina disaster. NASCAR CEO Brian France said “Like all Americans, our hearts ache as we realize the devastating impact this storm has had. We know NASCAR fans are anxious to help."

Busch driver rode out 'Katrina', OK Busch Series driver Kim Crosby is a native of Slidell, La., a city devastated by Hurricane Katrina. Crosby and her husband, Chris, rode out the storm in Mississippi and were "lucky" to find their house had survived. She has decided she will race at California this weekend. September 1, 2005

Official - Crocker to make debut at Richmond Evernham Motorsports announced that Erin Crocker will make her Busch Series debut next Friday at Richmond. Erin has 3 top 5's and 4 top 10's in only 5 races this year in the ARCA Series. She was also the first woman to ever win a World of Outlaws race last year. September 1, 2005

Busch race As is typical when the Cup and Busch race the same track, tons of Cup guys will be running in the Busch race on Saturday as well, like Kasey Kahne, Jeff Burton, Jimmie Johnson, Jeremy Mayfield, Greg Biffle, Elliott Sadler, Joe Nemechek, Michael Waltrip and others. Track owners, to buy Action Collectibles Two unlikely companies ISC, and SMI have joined forces to buy Action Performance, the industry leader in racing collectibles. ISC and SMI combined own most of the tracks on the NASCAR circuit, and now they'll control basically everything you buy at the track as well. We'll see what this means in prices, down the road a bit. Pattie suspended, fined, Sorenson docked 50 points Brian Pattie, crew chief for Reed Sorenson's #41 Busch car has been suspended until October 31st, and fined $35,000 for using an unauthorized tire treatment last weekend at Bristol. Reed was also penalized a massive 50 points, basically NASCAR threw the book at them. August 30, 2005

TESTING | RICHMOND For obvious reasons being the last race until the chase, teams are testing this week at the track. They include: Michael Waltrip, Dale Earnhardt Jr., Jamie McMurray, Jeremy Mayfield, Ryan Newman, Jeff Gordon, and others including Busch and Truck teams. August 30, 2005

No further penalties for Jarrett Word from Nextel Cup director John Darby, Dale Jarrett will not receive any further penalties from wrecking the 12 car of Ryan Newman on Saturday night. DJ was held 2 laps by NASCAR after repairs were made to his car. That wreck took out Kevin Harvick's 29 machine, who couldn't see the 12 car stopped while trying to avoid the 25 of Brian Vickers. Now locked into the Chase for the Championship are Greg Biffle, Jimmie Johnson, and Tony Stewart, with Rusty Wallace pretty close.
Jeff Gordon is back in the top 10, but he's hanging on by a thread, only 11 points in front of Bristol winner Matt Kenseth in 11th. 12th place Jamie McMurray is only 12 points back of Gordon, Elliott Sadler is 34 back, teammate Dale Jarrett is 78 back, and Dale Earnhardt Jr. still has a slim shot at making the chase as he is 117 points out of the Top 10. Two races to go, so we'll see how things end up. August 29, 2005

In typical Bristol fashion, tempers flared.
-First Ryan Newman bumped the 88 of Dale Jarrett putting him in the wall, then about a 100 laps later, DJ returned the favor and wrecked the 12 and his own car. NASCAR was not pleased and held the 88 for 2 laps after repairs were made to his machine.
-Teammates Jeff Gordon, and Brian Vickers were bumping and banging for most of the race.
-Carl Edwards managed to wreck both Petty cars during the course of the evening, Kyle had words with Carl after the race.
-Jimmie Johnson did not finish due to engine problems
-Kevin Harvick also wrecked hard into Ryan Newman during his wreck with Jarrett.
