Teams may break out the Intrepids
The Dodge teams are still scratching their heads as to how to get some speed out of their Charger. In fact the Penske teams for Kurt Busch and Ryan Newman are probably going to use the 2004 Intrepid's for both California and Las Vegas instead of the Charger. Ray Evernham's teams are sticking with the Charger, but a bunch of the Dodge teams are trying to get a group test going at Nashville.

Driver X contestant inks deal with Roush
19 year old Peter Shepherd has been inked by Roush Racing to their driver development program. Peter was part of Discovery Channel's Driver X competition and quickly impressed Jack Roush. If you had a chance to catch the show, he was pretty amazing on and off the track.

Martin to have busy Speedweeks
Mark Martin will make his 4th Craftsman Truck Series start on February 17th at Daytona. This makes Mark a busy guy during Speedweeks since he'll be driving in the IROC race, The Bud Shootout, the Daytona 500, and now the truck race.

Stewart on QVC Friday
Tony Stewart fans can check him out on QVC's 'For Race Fans Only' on Friday night. The 2005 champion will show off stuff you can buy, like autographed collectibles, the new 2005 chrome #20 diecast car, and a bunch more. Check it out @ 8pm Eastern.

Jr. hangs with the Navy
Dale Earnhardt Jr. spent some time last week aboard the USS Marvin Shields even getting up for a 6 a.m. breakfast. Some sailors took a while to actually recognize Jr., eventually everyone knew and camera's were soon popping everywhere. The US Navy sponsors Jr.'s #88 Busch Series car driven by Mark McFarland.

Las Vegas Motor Speedway to see changes
After their race this year, Las Vegas Motor Speedway is planning some big changes, like a new fan-friendly garage area, added banking to the track up to 20 degrees, move pit road closer to the grandstands, and a new media center for media types like me.

Team Ganassi wins Rolex 24
Casey Mears along with the rest of Team Ganassi grabbed the win at the Rolex 24 at Daytona over the weekend. They had to overcome a black flag penalty with under 20 minutes left in the race. It's the first Rolex 24 victory for Chip Ganassi Racing. Teammates Dan Weldon, and Scott Dixon shared the driving duites.

Kurt Busch postpones court hearing
Lawyers for Kurt Busch have postponed his pre-trial hearing on reckless driving charges from the now famous incident back in November near Phoenix International Raceway. They have 30 days to reschedule.

Las Vegas Testing starts Monday
Preseason testing in Las Vegas starts Monday at the track with 41 Cup Series teams scheduled to run. This being a 1.5 mile oval, this week could be more important for teams than at Daytona since there are more of these tracks on the schedule.

Here is a tentative list of test dates and drivers:

Jan. 30-31: Clint Bowyer, Jeff Burton, Dale Earnhardt Jr., Robby Gordon, Jeff Green, Kevin Harvick, Dale Jarrett, Travis Kvapil, Mark Martin, Jamie McMurray, Elliott Sadler, Hermie Sadler, Ken Schrader, Brent Sherman, Reed Sorenson, David Stremme, Martin Truex Jr., Michael Waltrip and Scott Wimmer.

Jan. 31-Feb. 1: Greg Biffle, Dave Blaney, Kurt Busch, Kyle Busch, Carl Edwards, Jeff Gordon, Jimmie Johnson, Kasey Kahne, Matt Kenseth, Bobby Labonte, Terry Labonte, Sterling Marlin, Jeremy Mayfield, Casey Mears, Joe Nemechek, Ryan Newman, Kyle Petty, Scott Riggs and Brian Vickers.

Jan. 30 and Feb. 1: Denny Hamlin, Tony Stewart and J.J. Yeley.
