WHO'S HOT GOING INTO MARTINSVILLE? Jimmie Johnson has scored five victories and 11 top-10 finishes in the 11 races since Charlotte last October. Johnson is the only driver to score top-10 finishes in every race in 2005. Greg Biffle has scored four top-10 finishes in five races this season. Kurt Busch has scored three top-five finishes in the five races in 2005. Scott Riggs has scored three top-10 finishes in five races in 2005. Hmiel's wallet lighter, points also lower Shane Hmiel was fined $10,000 by NASCAR and docked 25 driver points for making an inappropriate gesture toward Dale Jarrett in Monday's Busch Series race. Shane was also put on probation until August 31st, his points position remains the same at 9th. April 6, 2005

First ever Pit Crew Challenge announced Also announced for the same race weekend as the All Star race, is the first ever NASCAR sanctioned Pit Crew Challenge. The event will take place on May 19th, those eligible to compete are teams whose drivers are also in the All Star Challenge, and up for grabs is at least a cool $200,000 in cash and prizes. The event is only $10 and takes place at the Charlotte Coliseum. April 6, 2005

Busch hangs with some Cubs Kurt Busch recently had a chance to hang out with the Chicago Cubs at spring training. Kurt took batting practice, played catch and then watched the game afterward. Being from Las Vegas he adopted the Cubs as his team since his parents lived in Chicago. Of course he was wearing jersey number 97. April 5, 2005

Revenge of the Sith coming to NASCAR Star Wars fans, get set for some special paint schemes to go along with the new movie coming out on May 19th Revenge of the Sith. Elliott Sadler and Dale Jarrett will run that special paint at the Phoenix race on April 13th.

Jarrett and Hmiel tangle, have words Tempers flared when Dale Jarrett got rear ended by Shane Hmiel when Dale slowed to avoid a wreck. Jarrett then got out of his #90 Ford and had some words with Shane. NASCAR is reviewing the matter. April 4, 2005

VICTORY LANE 1 He started dead last in 43rd, but took home the trophy ending a 55 race winless streak......Kevin Harvick in that #29 car.
OTHER STORIES ON THE DAY
-Carl Edwards wrecked early and broke his radiator, but salvaged a 26th place finish
-Rusty Wallace led the most laps, but went 2 laps down with tire problems, then later wrecked and picked up a 13th.
-A massive wreck caused by Bobby Hamilton Jr. involved 14 cars including 8 on the lead lap. Caught up, yep Bobby Labonte yet again, also McMurray, Blaney, Kahne and others.
-One of the hardest hits I've ever seen, happened when Jimmie Johnson spun the #31 of Jeff Burton, then Kurt Busch running full speed slammed into Jeff head on. Thankfully both drivers walked away okay.
-Late in the race, both running top 10, Jeff Gordon and Matt Kenseth had tire problems and finished 15th & 16th.
