After a career finish of 9th in Sunday’s race at Kansas, AJ Allmendinger is officially out of the #84 car for Red Bull Racing.  Scott Speed and Mike Skinner will share that ride for the remainder of this season.

Red Bull Racing Team announces Mike Skinner and Red Bull development driver Scott Speed to replace AJ Allmendinger in the No. 84 for the rest of the 2008 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series season. The No. 84 currently sits 33rd in owners’ points. “The schedule we put together is in the best interest of both Red Bull Racing Team and AJ’s plans for the future,” said RBRT Vice President and General Manager Jay Frye. Allowing Mike Skinner and Scott Speed to share the No. 84 for the balance of the season helps our team continue developing our program for the future.” Mike Skinner, who drove the No. 84 Red Bull Toyota for five races earlier in the 2008 season, will take the reins of the No. 84 at the NSCS races in both Talladega and Charlotte. Red Bull development driver Scott Speed will drive the No. 82 Red Bull Toyota at Charlotte on October 11 – the same weekend he attempts to clinch the ARCA RE/MAX Series championship in Toledo. Speed will then take over driving duties of the No. 84 at Martinsville, Atlanta, Texas, Phoenix and Homestead.

NCTS Recap: Skinner Wins 25th in Las Vegas Squeaker

LAS VEGAS (Sept. 20, 2008) — Mike Skinner outdueled Erik Darnell on a green-white-checkered finish to win Saturday night’s Qwik Liner Las Vegas 350 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race Saturday night at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

Running second, Skinner’s Bill Davis Racing Toyota bumped Darnell’s Roush Fenway Racing Ford on the final restart and went to the outside in Turn 1. Skinner cleared Darnell entering Turn 3 and took the lead for the 147th lap, one over the scheduled distance on the 1.5-mile track.

Skinner to Drive #00 Champion Mortgage Toyota Camry at Michigan , Bristol and California

CORNELIUS, N.C. (August 12, 2008) – Mike Skinner will assist Michael Waltrip Racing in efforts to evaluate its 18-month-old full-time NASCAR Sprint Cup Series program by racing the #00 Champion Mortgage Toyota Camry at Michigan International Speedway, Bristol Motor Speedway and California Speedway.

“Michael Waltrip Racing is fully committed to our sponsors, the success of our race teams and ensuring Michael McDowell, Josh Wise, David Reutimann and I have the necessary tools to succeed as drivers,” Waltrip said. “We’ve asked Mike Skinner to evaluate areas where we can improve our on-track performance. I thought he did a really nice job of working with Red Bull and A.J.
